I. By symptoms • Car won't start?: A. No power (no lights, no cassette play?) - case 1: battery dead or low? - tried jump start? - Know how to connect umper cable? Red(+) to Red(+), Black(+) to Black(+) - case 2: You jump started your car, and was ok for a while, and then it stopped on your way back home? - positively your alternator is bad, or the belt connecting engine and alternator is loose, if so you are simply not charging your battery. Make sure that belt is tight. If you finally have to change the alternator, make sure you mark and label the cables and connection ports in your bad alternator before you disassemble the units. You won't be appalled when you have to reconnect the cables if you do this. B. Have power, but still won't start? - bad starter motor, bad fuel filter, clogged air filter…. Etc., getting complicated!
• Car stopped while driving?: - case 1: no gas? - it happens. - case 2: battery dead-overloaded - case 3: alternator is bad - case 4: timing belt is broken
• Your car roars like a monster?: - case 1: Checked muffler? - muffler end and the whole exhaustion train? - case 2: Is the sound from engine room? - Didn't one of your spark plugs popped out of its position? - Trust me. Sometimes it happens!
II. By parts. • Battery/Aleternator problems Don't overload your battery-On a rainy summer night, he got caught in a traffic jam - he turns on lights, wipers and turned on cassette player out of boredom. Finally he got home after a long and slow drive. The next morning? His car won't start - He drained his battery. - well … gotta jump start.
